The School of Architecture has received an anonymous gift to boost funding of the Gene Edward Mikeska Endowed Professorship for Interior Design into an endowed chair. Designed to provide resources to scholars of eminent stature, endowed chairs are awarded to deans, department chairs and superior faculty to enhance their scholarly efforts and research. Nancy Kwallek, director of the interior design program and previous holder of the endowed professorship, has been named the chair. Funds from the chair will support her research and teaching efforts in the School of Architecture.
