Doctoral students at The University of Texas at Austin are invited to apply for the Francis Fowler Wallace Memorial Award to support their research of mental health-related topics.

The award of up to $1,500 will support dissertation research on “the cause and treatment, cure, and prevention of mental disease, mental illness and mental disorders,” as designated by Francis Fowler Wallace in her will. The award may be used for research-related expenses such as survey mailings, software, participant stipends and training.

Visit the Frances Fowler Wallace Memorial Award online for eligibility requirements and application instructions. Applications are due Monday, Nov. 1 by 1 p.m. (CDT).

Since 1940, the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health has worked to improve the mental health of all Texans through the support of effective mental health services, research, policy and public education. The foundation is part of the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement at The University of Texas at Austin.
