Tower Lighting: Mechanical Engineering at 100

Happy Birthday! On Friday, Sept. 20, the Tower will glow orange with a “100” to celebrate a century of Mechanical Engineering’s excellence on the Forty Acres.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Cockrell School of Engineering celebrates its centennial in 2013. Check out the Centennial website to find out more about this weekend’s celebrations.

Tonight, Friday, Sept. 20, the university will honor 100 years of excellence with a Tower lighting. The lighting configuration will bathe the entire Tower in a burnt orange glow, and a “100” will shine through the windows.

The department’s undergraduate and graduate programs rank in the top 10 nationally, eighth and tenth respectively, according to U.S. News and World Report. Learn more about the mechanical engineering research and education programs.
