Division of Continuing Education wins six national marketing awards

The Division of Continuing Education at The University of Texas at Austin has received national recognition from the University Continuing Education Association for six outstanding marketing and communications initiatives.

AUSTIN, Texas—The Division of Continuing Education at The University of Texas at Austin has received national recognition from the University Continuing Education Association (UCEA) for six outstanding marketing and communications initiatives. The division received three gold, two silver and one bronze award in the 2005-2006 UCEA Marketing and Publications Awards of Excellence Program competition.

The division’s new Web site home page [http://www.utcontinuinged.org] and secondary pages won a gold and a silver award. Continuing Education’s UT Elderhostel program won a gold award for a marketing publication and the division’s Distance Education Center won a gold award for the 2005 Migrant Student Graduation Enhancement Program recognition ceremony. The Thompson Conference Center’s 35th Anniversary public relations event was recognized with a silver award and Continuing Education’s 2005-2006 course bulletins received a bronze award.

The division’s winning entries, which were among 375 total submissions from 65 UCEA institutions, were created by Continuing Education art directors Chris Duncan and David Grosvenor and Communications Coordinator/Writer Ramona Kelly. The Distance Education Center Migrant Student Recognition Ceremony team included Art Director Kevin Rathge, Program Coordinator Peggy Wimberley, Assistant Program Coordinator Luz Hinojosa, Migrant Student Services staff members Eusebia Vargas and Alma Carrillo, and student workers Priscilla Camacho and Daisy Cantu.

A representative from the Division of Continuing and Extended Education will accept the awards during the UCEA annual conference, April 9-12, in San Diego.
