BACKGROUND: Gen. Robert Cone received a master’s degree in sociology from The University of Texas at Austin and went on to become the highest ranking university alumnus in U.S. Army history. He was commander at Fort Hood from 2009 until 2011 and is currently Commanding General of U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command. Cone will be returning to campus to meet with ROTC cadets and leaders and university officials.
