Service learning for engineers goes global

Patriensa leaders greatly appreciate the results of the PUC Ghana project.

Projects for Underserved Communities (PUC) is an innovative new course at the Cockrell School of Engineering that places learning on a global scale for students. In fall 2009, 25 students participated in the first PUC course that focused on project selection and planning. They chose water projects in Santa Cruz, Peru, and Patriensa, Ghana. In spring 2010, the students traveled overseas to implement the projects.
