Event: Juvenile Support Network Conference: Creative Pathways to Engaging Youth, a one-day conference that focuses on supporting court-involved youth and those at risk of dropping out of school.

Background: The Juvenile Support Network (JSN) comprises a group of University of Texas at Austin faculty and staff who share a commitment to helping low-income youth and addressing issues they face, such as high dropout rates and disproportionately high numbers of discipline referrals in schools, especially for those who are Hispanic and African American. Network members work to identify ways to help address these issues and connect youth with resources. The JSN also examines factors in prevention of problems that at-risk youth face.
Juvenile Support Network Conference: Creative Pathways to Engaging Youth will showcase a number of organizations that use the arts as a way to connect at-risk youth and will foster collaboration among community groups, city and county agencies, and faculty and staff at The University of Texas at Austin. Panels include “Building Confidence, Competence and Connectedness the Creative Way!” and “Creative Work with Court-Involved Youth.” Panelists include:
