UT Austin to Close at 10 p.m.; Tomorrow's Reopening to be Determined

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter storm warning for Central Texas for this evening. The University of Texas at Austin asks that those on campus use extreme caution in anticipation of this winter storm. The campus will officially close at 10 p.m. tonight, March 3, 2014, due to the possibility of winter weather.

Student earns $50,000 fellowship

The National Weather Service (NWS) has awarded Enrique Rosero, a Ph.D. student at the Jackson School of Geosciences, a graduate fellowship worth $50,000 a year to support his work to improve computer models the weather service uses to forecast flooding.
