Blanton Museum Receives Major Gift

The Blanton Museum of Art at The University of Texas at Austin has been gifted approximately 120 modern and contemporary Latin American artworks from UT alumni Judy and Charles Tate of Houston. In addition, the Tates have made a major contribution toward the endowment that supports the museum's Latin American curatorship.

Jack Sawtelle Blanton, a leader in the energy industry, philanthropy and higher education, died in Houston on Dec. 28 at the age of 86. The Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin was named in his honor in 1997.

Blanton Museum Receives Mellon Foundation Grant to Train Future Curators

The Blanton Museum of Art at The University of Texas at Austin has been awarded a $504,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to establish a curatorial fellowship program for a six-year period to help train future museum curators.
