The UT Tower will be glowing burnt orange on Wednesday, May 1, in recognition of women’s tennis team‘s victory at the Big 12 Championship on April 28. Per UT tradition, the campus landmark is lit orange from top to bottom when a Longhorn team wins a conference championship.

The third-seeded Longhorns defeated fifth-seeded Oklahoma State by a 4-0 count in the finals of the 2013 Big 12 Championship in Norman, Okla. It marked UT’s ninth Big 12 women’s tennis tournament title and the second in a row for eight-year head coach Patty Fendick-McCain.

Texas freshman Breaunna Addison was named Big 12 Championship’s Most Outstanding Performer after going 3-0 at No. 2 singles.

The Longhorns earned an automatic bid to compete in the 64-team NCAA Championship. Read the Big 12 Championship recap on TexasSports.com.
