AUSTIN, Texas — On March 27, Texas Global will begin operating temporarily in Main Building (MAI) on The University of Texas at Austin campus. The move will allow for the renovation of the current building at 2400 Nueces St. The construction plans will better accommodate the increased volume of services the university unit provides, including passport application services and student advising appointments, with larger and more collaborative spaces for students, scholars and the community. Texas Global is home to International Student and Scholar Services, Education Abroad, the English Language Center and Passport Services.
“The renovations we are making will be yet another significant mark in the history of Texas Global, one that will productively impact our trajectory,” said Sonia Feigenbaum, senior vice provost for global engagement and chief international officer. “The university’s goal to create a space where our international and domestic students and scholars can congregate, combined with our presence in a collaborative work environment, will position us to continue to build community and serve our many stakeholders.”
Texas Global will continue to provide in-person advising in the Main Building, Room 7, on the ground floor of the UT Tower. During the March 20–24 move to the temporary space, advising appointments and administrative services will continue remotely.
Passport Services will relocate to the Main Building, Room 22, and will no longer accept walk-ins. Passport Services will not process applications during the week of March 20–24. The public, as well as students, faculty members and staff members, can use the online scheduling system for appointments that will begin on March 27.
