Meet Melanie Saenzpardo, a 2025 graduate from the Cockrell School of Engineering. Melanie’s world-changing contributions began in high school, where she helped save the city of El Paso’s recycling program and founded a tutoring service for non-English speakers.
These experiences led to Melanie receiving an Impact Scholarship, which is awarded to students across the state who make a significant impact in their communities. Melanie’s Impact Scholarship, along with a matching scholarship from the Cockrell School, helped her to fulfill her goal of earning an engineering degree.
“I feel like UT really gave me the confidence to make big decisions for myself and explore different paths,” Melanie said.
