Meet Ben Claflin, a 2025 graduate from the Cockrell School of Engineering. Ben’s world-changing contributions began in high school, where as an exchange student in Germany, he saw a need for more robust resources for exchange students. This experience led to Ben receiving grants to create a mentorship startup, allowing future exchange students to connect with exchange alumni to support them through the experience.
At UT, Ben continued to explore the world, participating in programs with the Clements Center for National Security and the Normandy Scholars Program that gave him the opportunity to travel to Europe and Asia.
“Going to UT, I really got out of my comfort zone and tried to see the world, and I think I’m going to continue with the adventure going forward,” Ben said.
