UT Austin releases book on La Salle expedition

The Center for Studies in Texas History at The University of Texas at Austin has released the definitive English translation of The La Salle Expedition to Texas, Joutel's classic account of the La Salle expedition of 1684-1687. The center is part of the Texas State Historical Association, which is located at UT.

McCallum High School students exhibit works at UT Austin

Eighteen art works from McCallum High School students will be on display through Oct. 23 at The University of Texas at Austin as a result of an ongoing Adopt-A-School partnership between the College of Fine Arts and the local high school.The exhibition will be displayed on the second floor of the art building located at the corner of 23rd Street and Jacinto. The purpose of the Adopt-A-School program is to provide a forum for faculty at UT Austin to share their expertise with teachers and management staff at McCallum, in order to help the school to achieve its goal of academic excellence.

Luis Jimÿnez installs sculptures at UT

The College of Fine Arts at The University of Texas at Austin has arranged to temporarily display two multicolored fiberglass sculptures by nationally recognized sculptor Luis Jimÿnez. Installation of the art work begins Thursday (Oct. 1) on the plaza in front of the Bass Concert Hall.
