UT community celebrates students' academic achievements in ceremonies March 27

March 19, 1999

Nearly 4,000 University of Texas at Austin junior and senior undergraduates who have a grade point average of 3.5 or better will be honored by the University community in ceremonies Saturday (March 27) at the Bass Concert Hall. The 51st Honors Day Program begins at 2 p.m.

Dr. James Hill recognized by lawmakers

Dr. James L. Hill, vice president for human resources and community relations, was presented an Outstanding Achievement Award in the professional category Thursday evening (March 11) at the Texas Legislative Black Caucus Black Tie Gala. Hill was one of seven outstanding individuals nominated for awards by Texas State Dist. 50 Rep. Dawnna Dukes, D-Austin. The award recognizes Hill's professionalism and lifetime achievements serving The University of Texas at Austin as well as the Austin community.

UT Interactive inspires, educates and entertains students of all ages; Texas' biggest open house scheduled for Saturday, March 6

Students of all ages are encouraged to attend UT Interactive, the biggest open house in Texas, to learn more about the power of higher education and possibilities for their own lives. More than 400 programs, activities and exhibits that illustrate the University's educational, research and cultural resources will be free and open to the public on The University of Texas at Austin campus from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 6.
