The History News Network named Madeline Hsu, associate professor of history and director of the Center for Asian American Studies, one of the nation’s “Top Young Historians.” Hsu studies migration, transnationalism and ethnic studies and is the author of “Dreaming of Gold, Dreaming of Home: Transnationalism and Migration Between the United States and South China, 1882-1943.” Hsu is working on a monograph exploring the Cold War intersections between American and Chinese foreign policy goals to migration policies and ethnic representations of Taiwanese Chinese in the United States.
