The Global Moot Corp Competition hosted by The University of Texas at Austin will celebrate its 25th year when it unfolds Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3.

This year, the “Super Bowl of world business-plan competitions” will feature 38 teams from countries around the world, including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Norway and Thailand.

The public is invited to view this rich environment of people, cultures, and plenty of interesting businesses in action. A schedule of the presentations can be found online.

In addition to a large number of cash awards that will be distributed at the awards ceremony, this year’s overall winner will receive a package worth $100,000. The package consists of a $25,000 cash prize, access to the McCombs School of Business entrepreneurial faculty to aid in fund raising from institutional sources, the Austin Technology Incubator Launch Package (including office space, legal and accounting services), the opportunity to open the NASDAQ Stock Market and the prosecution of the first American patent by Ropes and Gray.

Started at The University of Texas at Austin by Master of Business Administration (MBA) students in 1984, the Moot Corp competition is the oldest and largest new venture competition in the world, and it provides MBA student teams with a chance to simulate the process of raising venture capital.
