Changes in the House

The Texas House of Representatives is facing possible turnovers, some involving Republicans challenging other Republicans, as in the case of the speaker’s race between Speaker Joe Straus and the conservative challenger Warren Chisum.

Sherri Greenberg is lecturer and interim director of the Center for Politics and Governance at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs. She served for 10 years as a member of the Texas House of Representatives, completing her final term in January 2001.
