AUSTIN, Texas — Dr. William F. Lasher has been appointed vice provost in the Office of the Executive Vice president and Provost at The University of Texas at Austin.

He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester, a master’s degree from Indiana University and was awarded his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.

“I have long been interested in academic and facility planning and their relationship with the allocation of University resources. This job presents an interesting challenge at this point in my career,” Lasher said.

Provost ad interim Stephen A. Monti said Lasher’s appointment became effective Oct. 13.Monti said, “Lasher is a welcome addition to our office, and we are looking forward to working with him. His background of active service on faculty committees, his administrative experience and his overall knowledge of the University will clearly enhance and strengthen the provost’s office.”
