AUSTIN, Texas — The College of Communication at The University of Texas at Austin has appointed Dr. Wei-Na Lee as executive director of the Office of Survey Research.
The Office of Survey Research (O.S.R.), established in 1986, was created to assist faculty, state and federal agencies, and commercial and non-profit organizations with survey and other field research. The O.S.R. is equipped with 22 computer assisted telephone interviewing stations to conduct on-line data collection.
In addition to her duties as executive director of the Office of Survey Research, Lee serves as associate professor in the department of advertising. Additionally, her current research projects address issues of acculturation in a multi-cultural society and an increasingly global environment.
“We are pleased that Wei-Na Lee has agreed to accept this appointment. Her leadership abilities will support the further professionalization of the Office of Survey Research,” said Ellen Wartella, dean of the college.
“I look forward to the opportunity to serve our constituencies through the most up-to-date applied communication research,” said Wei-Na Lee.
Lee earned a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature from Tamkang University in Taiwan and a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned both an M.S. and a Ph.D. at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Lee began her career in the advertising department of UT Austin in 1988.
