AUSTIN, Texas — The head of government of Mexico City, Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas Solorzano, will be the keynote speaker this week during the Student Conference on Latin America sponsored by The University of Texas at Austin’s Institute of Latin American Studies Student Association.The keynote address by Cárdenas will be from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 28) at the Texas Union Ballroom on the UT Austin campus. The conference events are free and open to the public, but seating may be limited.
The conference begins on Friday (Feb. 27) and will include student presentations and panel discussions. It is a forum for students involved in all aspects and disciplines of the field of Latin American Studies. An international group of undergraduate and graduate students will present original papers on topics as varied as economics, art, literature, history and politics.
