AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas at Austin’s School of Law was ranked among the nation’s top 20 law schools in a recent edition of The American Lawyer magazine.

The UT Austin School of Law was ranked 18th nationwide in the article published in the magazine’s April edition. The rankings comparing 150 law schools were based on the question: “Where do the nation’s highest-grossing law firms go when they’re looking for first-year associates?” The question was submitted to each of the 1997 Am Law 100 firms.

The report shows that 165 students from the UT Austin School of Law were hired as first-year associates by one of the 89 law firms that responded to the survey.
