AUSTIN, Texas–Murray Goldberg, founder and director of WebCT–an integrated course development tool–will give a demonstration of the program during a talk at The University of Texas at Austin on Thursday (Oct. 22).
Goldberg also will discuss the results of educational effectiveness and student reaction to the World Wide Web as a learning resource during the hourlong lecture, which begins at 12:30 p.m. in Room 3.106 of the Pharmacy Building.
Goldberg is a faculty member in the computer sciences department at the University of British Columbia. He combines his love of teaching with his computer science background to work in educational technologies.
WebCT makes it easy to build complete online courses or publish materials to supplement existing courses. UT Austin’s Center for Instructional Technology supports and provides training for faculty use of WebCT.
Free and open to all, the event is sponsored by ACITS Center for Instructional Technologies. For more information contact Kathy Schmidt at 475-9312, or k.schmidt@mail.utexas.edu.
