WHAT:The 1999 Conference on Texas Excellence in Education. Outstanding teachers from throughout Texas will participate in this program to improve K-12 education in Texas. Highlights will include
- A meeting with state education policy makers;
- A “Campus Clusters” project linking schoolteachers in dialogue with University students, faculty and administrators;
- Demonstrations of award-winning “best lessons;”
- Presentation of the 1999 Texas Excellence Awards for Outstanding Teachers.
WHEN:Conference events are scheduled for Thursday and Friday (Feb. 18-19). The presentation of the 1999 Texas Excellence Awards for Outstanding Teachers will be at the 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday (Feb. 19) PresidentÌs Dinner.
