AUSTIN, Texas—The University Outreach Center on Tuesday and Wednesday (June 15-16) will host 180 rising junior and senior students from across the state that will participate in the Longhorn Round-Up program.
The program is designed to provide Outreach students with the latest information related to attending The University of Texas at Austin. The students, who are from the stateÌs six Outreach Centers in Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Houston, the Rio Grande Valley and San Antonio, will stay overnight at UTÌs Jester Center Residence Hall.
The student participants will receive a wide variety of information about UT Austin that will include admissions guidelines, financial aid procedures, majors offered by colleges and schools, and hear a panel of current students discussing life on campus.
The University Outreach Center is a non-profit educational partnership sponsored by UT Austin and Texas A&M University. Its mission is to prepare– academically and motivationally– a selected group of middle/high school students to enroll in college after graduation from high school. Their seventh-grade guidance counselor or teacher nominates the students.
