Public parking for UT Austin’s 116th Birthday and Tower reopening

Complimentary parking will be available for the public attending President Larry R. Faulkner’s State of the University Address at 1:30 p.m. and the symposium on “The Open Tower” at 2 p.m.

AUSTIN, Texas—Complimentary parking will be available for the public attending President Larry R. Faulkner’s State of the University Address at 1:30 p.m. and the symposium on “The Open Tower” at 2 p.m.

The shuttle will run from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. between the Parking Garage #5, located at Manor Road and East Campus Drive near the football field, to the site of the president’s address and symposium at Jessen Auditorium in Homer P. Rainey Hall, located on the South Mall near Littlefield Fountain. The Garage #5 parking for event guests during these hours will be free.

Parking for the evening events, including a concert on the South Mall and official reopening of the Tower observation deck, can be found as available in the general University area and state lots surrounding the University. In addition, paid parking is available in parking garages near the event.
