AUSTIN, Texas—Jennifer Sauter, an alumnus of The University of Texas at Austin’s School of Social Work, has been honored by the National Association of Social Workers Austin Unit as “Social Worker of the Year.”
Sauteris executive director of the Connections Resource Center and an advocate for parenting education in Austin. She and other award recipients were honored during a reception on Thursday (March 9) celebrating March as Professional Social Work Month.
The other recipients are:
- Professor David Austin of the UT Austin School of Social Work, Lifetime Achievement Award.
- Rose Lancaster, founder of Extend-a-Care program, the Public Citizen of the Year award.
- Seanna Crosbie and Kim Durham, second-year graduate students at UT Austin, were recognized as Social Work Students of the Year. They are founding members of the student unit of National Association of Social Workers at the UT Austin School of Social Work.
