AUSTIN, Texas—Human Resource Services at The University of Texas at Austin will hold its second annual “UT-Wide Job Fair” on Jan. 27 at the Frank Erwin Center, 1701 Red River St. in Austin.
The event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. is open to the public and offers opportunities for full-time and part-time employment in non-teaching positions.
Job seekers are invited to take their resumes and apply early. The job fair involves more than 350 jobs openings in areas such as clerical, skilled/crafts, service/maintenance, executive/managerial, professional non-faculty and technical/paraprofessional. These positions will help fill the personnel needs of UT Austin, which has its own police force, physical plant operations, health center, housing department, temporary agency, telecommunications department and numerous other areas serving the University community.
“The first UT-Wide Job Fair in January 2000 was extremely successful. The University hosted more than 700 applicants last year and hired more than 40 new employees as a direct result of this event,” said Patsy Julius, coordinator of the UT-Wide Job Fair. The event will provide an opportunity for on-site interviews and contingent job offers of employment.
“If you don’t have time to visit our office, go to our Web site at www.utexas.edu/admin/ohr to view current job listings and UT Austin benefits, and to complete an application,” said Julius.
The job fair is sponsored by the Frank Erwin Center, in partnership with UT Austin Human Resource Services and KUT Austin 90.5 FM radio. It will feature booths representing numerous departments from throughout the campus.
Applicants are encouraged to arrive with several copies of their resume, if they have one, along with copies of any licenses or certificates for specialty areas, such as medical, trade and technical fields. However, a resume is not required.
