Groundbreaking for John A. and Katherine G. Jackson Geological Sciences Building

WHEN: 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 17

WHERE: Geological Sciences Building, UT Austin Campus (Maps of UT Austin can be obtained at the following Web site: www.utexas.edu/maps/main).

BACKGROUND: John A. Jackson of Dallas, who along with his late wife donated $15 million to expand and refurbish the geology building, will participate in the groundbreaking.

NOTE: To get to the groundbreaking site, enter the campus at Martin Luther King Blvd., and Speedway. At the guard gate, obtain a parking permit for Lot 11. Parking Lot 11 is directly north of Gregory Gym. The Geological Sciences Building is to the north across the East Mall. Before going to the groundbreaking site, enter the building and go to Room 118 to receive a hard hat, which is required for attendance at the ceremony.
