AUSTIN, Texas—Opportunities for employment with The University of Texas at Austin will be showcased to prospective applicants attending a university-wide job fair July 21 at the Frank C. Erwin Jr. Special Events Center. The event is free and open to the public.
The 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. job fair will feature booths with representatives from various departments at UT Austin describing opportunities for full-time and part-time employment in non-teaching positions. The event is intended to fill about 200 openings in areas such as skilled crafts, clerical, executive/managerial, service/maintenance, professional non-faculty and technical/paraprofessional.
Applicants are encouraged to arrive with several copies of their resume, if they have one, along with copies of any licenses or certificates for specialty areas, such as medical, trade and technical fields. However, a resume is not required.
About 1,500 people participated in a similar job fair in January, including 22 applicants who were hired on the spot, said Rich Burns, assistant director for recruiting and staffing services.
He said the job fair is sponsored by the Erwin Center, in partnership with UT Austin Human Resource Services and KUT Austin 90.5 FM radio. Current job listings and information on UT Austin benefits and the application process are available on the Human Resource Services Web site, <www.utexas.edu/hr/empl/>.
Free parking for prospective applicants will be available on the UT Austin parking lot located just south of the Erwin Center.
