AUSTIN, Texas—The Tower was lit orange with an orange top and the #1 displayed on Tuesday evening, June 25, in recognition of the College World Series win by The University of Texas at Austin baseball team.

The Longhorns clinched the National Collegiate Athletic Association baseball championship with a 12-6 win over the University of South Carolina Saturday, June 22, in Omaha, Neb. This victory marks the university’s fifth national title and its first since 1983.

Fans were invited to attend a celebration Tuesday at Disch-Falk Field to honor the Longhorns. The program featured Gov. Rick Perry, Austin Mayor Gus Garcia and Coach Augie Garrido.

Following the program, the Longhorns posed for a team photo with the Tower in the background.

Congratulations to Coach Augie Garrido and the Longhorns baseball team!
