White honored by National Association of Social Workers as social workers celebrate national social work month

Dr. Barbara White, dean of the School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin, has received the 2003 Presidential Award for Leadership in Social Work Education from the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

Since becoming dean in 1993, White has worked to position the university’s School of Social Work toward national prominence. The school is now ranked among the top 10 graduate social work programs in the country by U.S. News and World Report magazine.
