First summer session brings 16,325 students to The University of Texas at Austin

The preliminary enrollment for the first summer session 2003 at The University of Texas at Austin is 16,325 students, according to Marsha K. Moss, associate vice president and director of the university’s Office of Institutional Research.

AUSTIN, Texas—The preliminary enrollment for the first summer session 2003 at The University of Texas at Austin is 16,325 students, according to Marsha K. Moss, associate vice president and director of the university’s Office of Institutional Research.

The university offers two summer sessions each year. Classes for the first session began June 4 and second session classes will begin July 14.

Moss said the enrollment for the first summer session 2003 represents an increase of 1.3 percent from the first summer session 2002 total of 16,123. The total includes students enrolled for first-session courses, nine-week courses and 12-week courses.

The students enrolled for the first summer session include 10,763 undergraduates and 5,562 graduate, law and pharmacy students. Official enrollment figures for the entire summer session will be available in August, Moss said.
