“The university, while located in Austin, is a resource that ought to be made available to everyone in the state of Texas,” says Robert Freeman, dean of the College of Fine Arts. “This exhibition is a clear example of how we can extend our reach and contributions well beyond the city limits.”

The public opening of “Austin Powers” will take place Thursday, Sept. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. The Williams Tower Gallery is at 2800 Post Oak Blvd. in Houston, and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For more information about the exhibition or the Department of Art and Art History at The University of Texas at Austin, please visit the Department of Art and Art History Web site or contact Carolyn Porter, assistant director of development, at 512-471 3379.
