AUSTIN, Texas—For the second time in two years, the Division of Continuing and Extended Education at The University of Texas at Austin has received national recognition from the University Continuing Education Association (UCEA) for outstanding marketing initiatives.

The division’s 2003 holiday e-card won a gold award in the E-communications category, the division’s Distance Education Center 2003 Migrant Student Recognition Ceremony and Exemplary Student Booklet won a gold award in the Public Relations Event category, and the division’s 2003 course catalogs won a silver award in the Most Improved category of the UCEA 2004 Marketing and Publications Awards of Excellence Program.

The division’s winning entries, which were among 263 total entries from 50 institutions in the UCEA competition, were designed and created by members of the division’s marketing and Web design staff. The holiday e-card was created by art director David Grosvenor, writer Ramona Kelly, and webmaster Sharon Meraz. The Distance Education Center Migrant Student Recognition Ceremony team included art director Kevin Rathge, Program Coordinator Peggy Wimberley, Assistant Program Coordinator Leticia Gonzalez, Student Development Specialist II Ryan Hill, Migrant Student Services staff member Eusebia Vargas and the 2003 event’s key note speaker, Elva Trevino Hart.
