AUSTIN, Texas—For the fourth consecutive year, the School of Law at The University of Texas at Austin has been named the top law school in the nation for Hispanics by Hispanic Business magazine.
The McCombs School of Business’s MBA program was ranked number four in the rankings, which appear in the magazine’s September issue.
“We work very hard to make minority students realize within a very short time of being here, that we want them here and that we are going to work to make it a good experience for them,” William Powers, dean of the School of Law, said in the magazine.
The rankings are based on levels of Hispanic enrollment, faculty, student services and retention rate, coupled with data on national reputation.
The University of Texas at Austin School of Law is nationally recognized in constitutional law, labor law, wills and estates, comparative law and admiralty. It has more than 650 African American alumni and 1,300 Mexican American alumni.
Hispanic Business noted that 10 to 15 percent of each incoming MBA class in the McCombs School is Hispanic. The top three positions among business schools were held by the Stanford Graduate School of Business, the Yale School of Management and New York University’s Stern School of Business.
