AUSTIN, Texas—The Beinecke Scholarship Program has awarded Ashley Gosselin-Ildar, an honors student majoring in anthropology at The University of Texas at Austin, a $32,000 scholarship to pursue her graduate degree in physical anthropology. She is one of only 18 recipients selected from a nationwide pool of applicants.

Her undergraduate research project focuses on deciphering social stratification and health in prehistoric Native American populations from the evidence of nutritional deficiencies as preserved in skeletal remains.
Gosselin-Ildari is highly involved with The University of Texas Anthropological Society, and has worked towards reviving and energizing the organization.
