Technical and security specifications outlined for Bill Clinton graduation address at LBJ School of Public Affairs

Former President Bill Clinton will deliver the convocation address at the graduation ceremony of the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin on May 20. The event will take place at 11 a.m. in the LBJ Auditorium on the basement level of the LBJ School, SRH Unit 3, 2315 Red River St.

AUSTIN, Texas—Former President Bill Clinton will deliver the convocation address at the graduation ceremony of the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin on May 20. The event will take place at 11 a.m. in the LBJ Auditorium on the basement level of the LBJ School, SRH Unit 3, 2315 Red River St. 

All members of the press interested in covering this event must submit their names and contact information by May 16 to Megan Scarborough at 512-471-8954 or megan@mail.utexas.edu.

Event details, including directions on accessing a live fiber feed of the address, are available online. 

For television and radio crews:

Due to stringent security requirements, TV crews are strongly encouraged to schedule a walk-through of the LBJ Auditorium the week prior to the event. To make arrangements, contact Megan Scarborough at 512-471-8954.

An A/V mult-box will be available in the room directly across the hall from the entrance of the LBJ Auditorium. News 8 Austin will serve as the pool camera, and will provide a live fiber feed of the address via CNN Fiber.

Photographers will be allowed to shoot b-roll and cutaways from the back of the auditorium, where a second mult-box will be available. However, movement within the auditorium during the address will be limited.

Parking spaces for media trucks will be reserved along the east side of Robert Dedman Drive. (View area map online.)

For print reporters and still photographers: 

Print reporters and still photographers will be required to check in at the media desk prior to the event to receive entry badges and directions to a reserved seating area.

Flash photography will be permitted in designated areas, however, movement within the auditorium during the address will be limited. Due to the fire code, the use of tripods will be prohibited.
