More security guidelines announced for former President Clinton’s speech at LBJ School

Former President Bill Clinton will deliver the convocation address at the graduation ceremony of the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin on May 20. The event will take place at 11 a.m. in the LBJ Auditorium on the basement level of the LBJ School, SRH Unit 3, 2315 Red River St.

AUSTIN, Texas—Former President Bill Clinton will deliver the convocation address at the graduation ceremony of the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin on May 20. The event will take place at 11 a.m. in the LBJ Auditorium on the basement level of the LBJ School, SRH Unit 3, 2315 Red River St.

All members of the press interested in covering this event must submit their names and contact information by May 16 to Megan Scarborough at 512-471-8954 or megan@mail.utexas.edu.

Event details, including directions on accessing a live fiber feed of the address, are available online.

Because of stringent security measures, members of the media are requested to arrive early. A security sweep of the premises will take place between 8:45 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Television crews are requested to arrive by 8:15 a.m. to preset their equipment. Television crews will be allowed to shoot b-roll and cutaways in the auditorium until 10:50 a.m.

Still photographers are requested to arrive by 9:45 a.m. for security equipment checks.

General parking for the media will be available in lots 37, 38 and 39, adjacent to the LBJ School on Red River Street.

A media check-in desk will be outside the entrance of the LBJ Auditorium, and journalists will be required to present a photo ID to be admitted.
