AUSTIN, Texas—The University of Texas at Austin will host its eighth annual “Explore UT: The Biggest Open House in Texas!” from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 3. More than 30,000 visitors are expected to participate in a day of free hands-on activities, performances, demonstrations and lectures.

At Explore UT, guests will have the opportunity to explore every corner of the campus. With more than 300 programs offered for visitors of all ages, there is something of interest for everyone.
“This is the biggest event of the spring,” said College of Natural Sciences Dean Mary Ann Rankin, the chair of Explore UT. “I don’t think there’s anything better than having everyone, especially kids, come to campus every year and feel that they are part of this university.”
Participants can serve as jurors during a mock trial of Gold E. Locks, train teams of intelligent robot soldiers for battle, deliver the TV news in a real broadcast studio, create medieval crafts as part of the Children’s International Festival, make their own robotic hands, march with the Longhorn Band and more.
This year’s Explore UT coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Harry Ransom Center and will be the first Explore UT that features the university’s Blanton Museum of Art.
Programs are free and open to the public. No registration is required. The event will take place rain or shine. Find a complete schedule of this year’s activities online.
