AUSTIN, Texas—Rudolph Hamilton “Rudy” Green, an attorney from Austin, has been appointed director of the Office of Institutional Compliance at The University of Texas at Austin. The appointment is effective March 1.

Green will be responsible for a program that provides training, information and other assistance to help university employees be better informed about and comply with federal, state and university laws, rules, policies and other requirements.
The Office of Institutional Compliance, originally established in 1998, is undergoing changes aimed at raising the profile of the office and awareness of the university’s compliance efforts. It will be relocated from the Main Building to the Flawn Academic Center on Feb. 26.
Green is charged with taking the program in a new direction that will expand the office and the scope of the director’s involvement in compliance at the university. A major change will be that Green will report directly to William Powers Jr., president of the university.
“I am extremely excited at the opportunity to work in an outstanding educational institution such as The University of Texas at Austin and particularly to be a part of the William Powers administration,” said Green. “I look forward to advancing the interests of the university and to using my experience in regulatory matters and organizational development for its benefit.”
Green’s goals include building compliance consciousness into daily business processes and encouraging the university community to demonstrate a commitment to the highest standards of ethics.
Green received his bachelor of science degree in administrative sciences from Yale University and his law and master of business administration degrees from The University of Texas at Austin. He has been associated with the Graves, Dougherty, Hearon and Moody, PC law firm in Austin since 2004.
Previously, he was general counsel with Prime Cable of Austin and legal consultant with Prime Management Group of Austin, where he worked in a variety of legal and management roles.
Green also has been involved in the Austin community, having advised and served on the boards of several non-profit organizations. He is an officer on the Board of Trustees of St. Stephen’s Episcopal School and the Austin Museum of Art.
