AUSTIN, Texas—Don C. Davis, associate director of the Office of Student Financial Services at The University of Texas at Austin, has been appointed acting director, according to Dr. Juan Gonzalez, vice president for student affairs.
Davis’ appointment, effective Monday, April 9, makes him responsible for the day-to-day operation and administration of the university’s financial aid office pending the completion of an investigation into recent allegations of conflict of interest against Dr. Lawrence Burt, associate vice president and director of student financial services.
"Don has stepped in and served as acting director twice before," Gonzalez said. "I appreciate his willingness to take on this responsibility once again."
Davis, who received a bachelor’s degree in economics from The University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in labor and industrial relations from Michigan State University, has been associate director of financial services since 1981 and has worked in the Office of Student Financial Services since 1973.
