Michael E. Orshansky, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, was named the Special Interest Group on Design Automation’s (SIGDA) Outstanding New Faculty at the 2007 Design Automation Conference. The SIGDA Outstanding New Faculty Award, one of two annual awards sponsored by the group, honors a junior faculty member whose research contributions are likely to make a significant impact in the field of electronic design automation. Orshansky’s research develops modeling and algorithmic methods to improve circuit design and create better, faster computer chips.
