Waymon Jackson, fire protection engineer for the Fire Prevention Services office, was appointed to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 72 Committee. Jackson is a principal member of this newly formed Emergency Communications Systems Committee, and is one of 25 members selected from around the nation. The committee will meet three times a year and write code standards for emergency communication systems, such as mass-notification systems. NFPA is the recognized authority on all aspects of fire safety, and the codes written by the 72 Committee will affect fire protection practices across the country. Jackson is a professional engineer and has more than 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors of fire safety. He has been with Fire Prevention Services four years.”
