The McCombs School’s Leadership Certificate Program (LCP), introduced at the outset of the 2007-08 academic year, has received a Bronze Award from the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the leading organization for student affairs administration, policy and practice. A class of 76 undergraduate students was accepted to the LCP in its inaugural year. The LCP, a unique program among undergraduate business schools, strives to enhance student learning and development as it relates to self-knowledge and leadership competence. Through a variety programs and student-directed activities, the LCP gives students an opportunity to grow as leaders and to make meaningful connections between their in-class and out-of-class learning experiences. Admission to the LCP is limited to a small number of students who are chosen on a competitive basis each year. The LCP selection committee considers students who demonstrate effective writing skills, analytical abilities and a unique perspective on the concepts of leadership.
