Undergraduate students at the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin are introducing the first “Green Means Go” 5K run/walk April 27 to raise funds to make the McCombs School more environmentally friendly.
The students hope to raise enough to offset an entire year of greenhouse gas emissions produced by heating and cooling the overall square footage of the business school buildings.
The Austin community is welcome to participate with students, faculty and staff in this event, which will begin at 8 a.m. on The University of Texas at Austin campus. This event is hosted by the Undergraduate Business Council at the McCombs School of Business, and is environmentally friendly. Participants and volunteers will be wearing shirts made from organic materials, number bibs are 100 percent recycled and all materials are printed on recycled paper.
The cost for pre-race online registration is $17 for adults, $12 for children 12 and under. Registration at the event is $20 for adults, $15 for children.
