Eric L. McDaniel, assistant professor in the Department of Government, has accepted the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s invitation to join its Scholars in Health Policy Research Program. The program is part of a Johnson Foundation initiative to increase research on health policy in the social sciences. McDaniel is interested in how religious institutions inform their members about health policy and how these institutions use their resources to influence health policy. He also is interested in how religious beliefs shape attitudes toward health-related issues. He will serve as a fellow for two years at the University of California Berkeley/University of California San Francisco site.
