The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost has awarded six professors the President’s Associates Teaching Excellence Award for the 2007-08 academic year. The award was established in fall 1980 to recognize excellence in undergraduate teaching at the university. Awardees are based upon selections received from the deans and department chairs in the colleges of Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences. The honorees are Department of English Assistant Professor Daniel Birkholz, Division of Rhetoric and Writing Associate Professor Diane Davis, Department of Psychology Associate Professor Samuel Gosling, Edward Everett Hale Centennial Professor in Economics Daniel Hamermesh, Department of Government Associate Professor Daron Shaw and Department of Computer Sciences Professor Robert Van De Geijn. The recipients each received $5,000.
