Shakespeare at Winedale Presents “Romeo and Juliet,” “The Merchant of Venice” and “Antony and Cleopatra”

Event: The 38th summer season of Shakespeare at Winedale begins July 16 and features three of the bard’s beloved plays: “Romeo and Juliet,” “The Merchant of Venice” and “Antony and Cleopatra.”

Background: Established in 1970 as an English course in the College of Liberal Arts, Shakespeare at Winedale has grown into a year-round program that reaches communities across the state. Students in the summer program spend two months in the Texas countryside studying and performing three plays in a converted 19th century barn that serves as the theater.
