Michael Walton, transportation engineering professor, has been selected as a member of the inaugural class of the Intelligent Transportation Society (ITS) of America’s Hall of Fame for his lifelong dedication to organizational leadership in the field and his contribution to the vision of intelligent transportation systems. The new award recognizes true leaders in the field by a selection of former ITS America board chairs. Walton researches intelligent transportation systems and intermodal freight logistics, in addition to transportation systems engineering, planning, operations and policy analysis. He holds the Ernest H. Cockrell Centennial Chair in Engineering.
